Raid 1 Hard Drive Failure
Hello:
As I was restarting an HP ML370 G4 Windows 2003 Server std. Edition, I noticed that Slot 1 from the hard drive cage had an amber light on. The Riad Breakdown is as follows:
1. Raid 1 to Slots 0-1.
2. Raid 5 to slots 2-4.
The C: Drive consists of the mirror Raid array (Slots 0-1).
The D: Drive consists of the Raod-5 array (slots 2-4).
I believe the correct thing to do to fix this problem is:
1. Get the same exact hard drive that is used in slot 1 (With the amber light flashing).
2. While the Server is up and running hot swap the bad hard drive with the new hard drive.
a. I think it should take about 8 hours to replicate over.
Does that sound correct?
