IDE Raid 0 setup help
I am having trouble setting up a IDE Raid 0 disk array on my computer.
I have a
Gigabyte 81RXP mother board with an on board Promise Raid controller
1.6aGHz P4
512MB PC2100 Ram
Win XP
2 Western Digital 80GB special edition Hard drives
I used Partition Magic to format both hard drives as single PRIMARY partiton FAT32 drives
Each drive is on its own IDE 80 pin cable and connected to IDE3 & IDE4 on the motherboard
I have tried both CABLE SELECT and SINGLE jumpre settings
In the BIOS I enabled the ATA/RAID controler and have it set to RAID
This is what happens when I enter the Promise Fast Build Utility numbered settings
1 Auto Setup (results in "No Available Disks!")
2 View Drive Assignments ( both drives are shown but listed as "Array 1 & Array 2")
3 View Array ( both drives are shown "Functional" but listed as "Array 1 & Array 2" with Array 1 shown to be the "Bootable Array")
4 Delete Array
5 Rebuild Array
6 Controller Configuration
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get my Raid Array working?
