The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Help with Hard drive question

hi.
i have a Digital Pc 3100 Short tower
I was wondering if i can upgrade my old 2 gig HDD to a ata 40 gig drive?
its support Ultra DMA 33
but i asked a techinal operator and they say it will work fine!.
but not too confindent
Comp Specs:
200Mhz w/MMX
160MB RAM
Win 98 se
2 gig HDD               -both Primary IDE
1.6 gig HDD (Slave)/
ATAPI CR/RW(Benq) 32x10x40(runs fine!)-Secondary IDE
40x CD ROM                                          /
Tv Excel Tuner card
S3 Virge DX/GX 4MB VGA PCI
Sound blaster Vibra16 PCI
Lan 10mbs

Motherboard supports 90 Mhz to 366Mhz either Intel/AMD
FSB 66.66mhz( anyone know how to increase i wanna overclock lol)
if you need more info because i cant hink anything else right send a reply!
