With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Backup Exec 8.0 - Unix Agent

I am using Veritas 8.0 for my backups. I have installed the unix agents on my mail server (Red Hat 8 +Sendmail +Qpopper +Squirrell mail + MailScanner w/ Antivirus).

The backup starts fine but always seems to hang in the /home directory. Under the status the current file does not change and evently the backup will just fail.
a du /home says 319000 megs (of directorys)
[root@mail home]# ls |grep -e '' -c
31988


as far as resources are concerend:

theres really no data in the home directories besdies the INBOX.* Files that squirrell mail uses. The users are all in the /bin/false shell. So they cant log in.
