Firmware for my cd drive or someother way to read 800mb cdr

   I have a HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4240N combo slim drive in my laptop. It doesnt recognize 800Mb cds for burning, but does a good job on 700mb disks. I know it needs a firmware update. But the firmware for this thing is not available in any place i checked. The only ones available were provided by DELL and it needed a floppy drive to work. But this laptop of mine does not have a floppy drive. Is there someway for me to get it to burn on 800Mb disks? Currently it recognizes these disks as 700mb disks only. If anyone has the firmware for this cd/dvd combo drive which does not need a floppy to execute please let me know
