Browse All TopicsI have an older NT4 system with an adaptec 29160 scsi adpater in it. I had 2 18 gig drives in an external case that I had mirrored for use as a data drive for an accounting program. Today one of the drives apparently went south. Upon bootup the scsi bios gave me the "ASYN start unit request failed"
The system did finally boot. I went into disk administrator and the drive showed as a mirror but unknown type. I broke the mirror, removed the bad drive from the chain and booted it back it. The drive now shows there but what is very very strange is that all the files are dated 7/21/2001 or earlier. Nothing current. This make no sense. I can't tell right off if the files are current version just with wrong dates or what. The accounting folder is there, but no data or files at all in it. This is the one I really need.
I have run chkdsk to no avail. I used filerestore from winternals to attempt to find deleted files and it didn't find anything.
Any ideas what to try next?
I have not tried to mess with the other drive from the mirror.
