How can I turn two USB external drives into Network Attached Storage (NAS)

I have 3 External Hard Drives (300Gig x 2, and a 160Gig) I want to turn two of these USB external drives into a network storage. I know Linksys has a device (NSLU2?) that connects 2 USB drives and turns them into NAS wirelessly. This is nearly what I want, but the device requires it to format the drive which makes it unrecognizable to Windows outside of using this device. I don't want to do this. I want to be able to take these drives elsewhere.

What do you recomend I use to do this? Is it possible? Am I able to buy a wireless USB adapter and it will work if I plug it into the drive? Are there any other options available to me, other than buying a secondary computer to run as a file server?
