Browse All TopicsWe have a database server with an Adaptec SCSI card connecting to a drive array. Drive array as 11 drives (1 is a hot spare) and everything is Dell hardware.
Once a week we get a report of a drive failure and the server freezes at some level. We reboot the machine and open the Adaptec Storage Manager and it reports a degraded drive and it begins the rebuild process. After 12 hours or so, the array is rebuilt and everything is fine. It then goes through the verify process and everything is fine. It's happened 4 times on 3 different drives.
Any idea what this could be?
We've checked all connections, the temperature of the array is OK, all fans are running???????
Really confused on this one as it's happened on 3 different drives and in the end there appears to be no real issue with the drive.
