Toshiba Hard Drive Diagnostic Utility

I am trying to run a fitness test/analysis on a Toshiba MK6021GAS. I know there are problems with the drive. I thought Hitachi was the hard drive manufacturer, so I downloaded their fitness test program. The drive has errors, but Hitachi's program won't touch it because it is a Toshiba drive. I have IBM/Hitachi, Maxtor, WD, and Seagate programs, but nothing for a Toshiba drive. Does anyone have a program or link to a program from Toshiba? Their site is awful and I've come up with nothing. Thanks a lot for any help.

ASKER

it seems that toshiba makes their own drives...their web site is http://sdd.toshiba.com/main.aspx ...any help?
According to this thread - their tech support states that they don't have a specific diag utility...

A couple of other suggestions there that might hopefully come in handy....good luck.

this IBM.. er Hitachi utility will run on your Toshiba... I use it on all drives instead of having one from each manufacturer
Try the maxtor utility, this usually works with other manufacturers too.

Yeah the situation is atrocious(!!) on Toshiba's part.
You accepted a solution...but help us out, which one worked? none?
I have a customer who uses an HP laptop with a Toshiba MK3263GSX hard disk. I suspected the disk was failing, but found no Toshiba tools to test it with. I ended up using the Seagate Seatools program which will test any brand hard disk, and worked great.
