Cannot see media when installed in Memory Card Reader

I have an Iogear combination USB hub/card reader attached to my Dell 4600 Desktop PC.  Both were working fine and now all of a sudden,  and although I can see the drive icons through explorer, the media is not recognized when installed in the reader.  I have eliminated the reader as the problem because I have installed it on another PC and it works fine. The hub also works fine.  I have uninstalled it several times to no avail.  The other thing that no longer happens when I plug the memory unit into the reader is that the windows dialog box doesn't pop up asking me what do I want windows to do with the device.  I tried a different card reader on the PC also and it displays pretty much the same behaviour.  The vendor has not bee a lot of help.  I'm hoping someone here can give me some pointers.....................................................Thanks
