Hello,
I have a notebook with 60GB HD.
I like to backup this on a HD in my local network (NAS).
I used Norton gost, but the disadvantages are:
- The first backup takes very very long, because I have to backup the whole volume c:\ in one operation.
- There is only a choice between incremental and full backup, and the incremental takes almost as long as the full...
I am looking for a backup program, which I can "feed" day after day with more directories to backup.
First day:
data\documents
Next day:
data\documents (incremental or differential, but not rewriting the whole backupfile)
+
data\mp3
Next day:
data\documents (incremental or differential, but not rewriting the whole backupfile)
data\mp3 (incremental or differential, but not rewriting the whole backupfile)
+
data\jpeg
and so on. After all directories are added, I can do an incremental or differential backup every day or week to stay up to date.
In that way, I can prevent backup operations to take very long.
If you say that there is a good backup program in XP, SP2, tablet edition, I will try it, but I don't really trust the Microsoft Backup programs...
Thanks for any advice,
Luke
