btw - i don't know if it happens in version 11, but reading Symantecs forums v.11 sounds like a waste of money at the moment, sounds like it runs like a beta and everyone seems to have the hump with it, demanding their money back and slagging Symantec off

I'm using backup exec 9 to backup to a backup-to-disk folder on two removable Wester Digital hard drives. &nbsp;I have it set up to backup directly to the root of drive e:, and it works fine until I switch out the drives so I can take one offsite. &nbsp;I am pausing or disabling the device within backup exec, then stopping it in windows and removing the drive. &nbsp;After I plug in the second drive and it is recognized I go back into backup exec and re-enable the device there. &nbsp;It shows online at that time, but the backup does not run and the folder shows offline after the job fails. &nbsp;At this point, if I disable and re-enable the device, the backup will run. &nbsp;The server is Win2k3 standard. &nbsp;I'm not sure the problem will be resolved if I upgrade to BE 11, but will upgrade if necessary. &nbsp;
