Browse All TopicsI absolutely CAN NOT get my "T" series' Lenovo ThinkPad's to Ghost properly. I ALWAYS end up with a blinking cursor after dropping the image onto another drive. I've been using Ghost for many years and have tried all the tricks I've found so - I"m putting this out here.
Parameters: Ghost 8.3; IBM T series Laptops - all. Windows XP Professional w/SP2.
What I've tried: I have Disabled the IBM Predestop Area under Security in the BIOS
I have tried Ghost32 -IB; -PMBR. I've tried running FIXMBR after dropping an image (from the Recovery Console). The one thing I've not done is try running Ghost in a pure DOS environment and running ghost.exe versus ghost32 in the GUI but I can't imagine how this would help. Furthermore, I do all imaging through a USB - drive adapter kit - this works on ALL OTHER imaging jobs I do including some of the older IBM ThinkCenter's. It's just these blasted StinkPads that I am about to lose whatever hair I have left over!
