The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. What software to use to mirror (replicate) around 6TB of data?

We have HP DL 380G5 Windows 2003 64 Storage Server plus MSA 60 (12 SCSI 750Gb drives). MSA enclosure is connected directly to the HP server.

Recently we bought and implemented SAN storage based on HP 2012i iSCSI box when one volume on the SAN is mapped to the HP server as well. The kit has 12 x 1 TB SATA drives.

So in other words, we have two local hard drives connected to the same server. The question is what software to use to mirror (not on-line - over night) data on the original MSA 60 storage to the new SAN box? I had a look at HP StorageWorks Storage Mirroring Software, but not sure is it right / value for money for us. Can we do it using DFS replication?
