Vmware Esxi 4.0 LTO SAS tape drive problem.

Hi have an IBM x3200 M2 server that I have loaded Vmware Esxi 4.0 onto. I have installed and configures a virtual server ie; Windows Server 200 R2 64 Bit. The Physicl server has a SAS attached LTO3 Tape backup Device installed. How do I configure Vmware to see the device. Windows Does not pick it up and when I edit the VM settings for the server there is no option to add a SAS attched Tape Dive.
