Connecting to an ADIC Scalar 24 to Update Firmware / Diagnose

Hi, we have a ADIC Scalar 24 and the front menu is locked up, when we try to restore from the device no action happens in the device. I am trying to connect via serial cable but I'm not sure if I can't connect because the device is not responding, or if I have the settings wrong.

I'm using 9600/8/N/1 as my console settings. If someone has some experience I'd love to know.
