The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Buying Advice Requested: Need suggestions for storage of backup tapes

Tags: Offsite backup tape storage boxes
My offsite tape backup storage site is my corporate headquarters. I go to the remote location each day and swap out last night's tape. I bring that tape back to my house at night and then back into the office the next day and put it on a shelf.

I am looking for suggestions and where to buy them for the following scenario:

I am using TDK D2406-LT03 400/800GB Ultrium 3 Backup tapes. I want to have a case that I can bring to the remote site on Monday afternoon that will contain 5 of these tapes in its own carrying case. I want to leave it in the rack, replacing the tapes each day with the next day's tape. On the following Monday, I want to bring a 2nd set of tapes in its own carrying case and swap sets bringing last weeks case and tapes back to corporate headquarters. I then want to take last week's tapes out of the carrying case and put them in a metal storage bin that is capable of holding approximately 30 tapes so that I will have room to store month ends, year ends and rotate week ends tapes.

This storage bin needs only to be metal and not a heat resistant lock box. Yes I want to be able to lock it. The room it will be located in is locked each night. I am looking to neaten up the procedure and storage. I am not looking to be fort knox.

Thanks in advance.
