IBM Deskstar DTLA-307045 Control board
This is not really a question, more like a request for hardware.
I am trying to find a control board for a IBM Deskstar DTLA-307045
It's a 46.1GB harddrive.
So, if you just happen to have a non working IBM harddrive of that model.
Remove the board from the drive and send it to me.
Please help if you can. :)

That drive has to be still in warranty, what the chance that someone's going to void theirs and send you their PC board?

This is an OEM drive. This drive is NOT in warranty.
Even though it is dated NOV-2000
Yes, that was the first thing I checked. Besides I want the data from this drive. The board was damaged by a not so careful friend. It's a sore subject.
I would rather find someone with a nonworking drive, send them, say $20. Instead of spending $96 for a replacement.
I not asking anyone to void their warranty. Just go to IBM Storage, now Hitachi http://hgst.com/warranty/
IBM sold their storage divsion to Hitachi.

How is ebay going to help this drive?

Gurru - did you get sorted out?
I have the same problem with a 30.7 gb deskstar (deathstar). I have been told it is essential to get an identical circuit board and that may NOT mean just a circuit board from the same disk as updates can be/are made to the circuit board as the disks are produced. In other words, a 30.7gb HDD made in June 2000, may use a different circuit board from the same disk, but made in Dec 2000.
I'd be very interested to know if you tried another board and did it work??
Thanks.

Hi chicagoan,
I assume you are asking this question to Gurru and not me. I have a separate post at https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/20787888/IBM-Deskstar-DTLA-307030-what-control-board-to-use.html
