Event ID: 11
Source: Aic78xx
Description: The driver detected a controller error on Device\ScsiPort0.
The name of the source can be the name of any controller, for example, Atdisk or ATAPI.
MORE INFORMATION
In almost all cases, these messages are posted because of hardware problems. The source may be the controller or (more probably) a device that is attached to the controller. The hardware problem can be poor cabling, incorrect termination or transfer rate settings, slow device relinquishment of the SCSI bus, a faulty device, or in rare cases, a poorly written device driver.

The rest of the article uses SCSI to show how to troubleshoot. A quick read seems to show that you already did most of it.

Since it is new, I would return it for another one. If that one still does it, then you have a bigger problem.

You can also download and run TweakXP, and see what it has to say:

Make a backup of your data, download the drive's diagnostic utility from the manufacturer's homepage and extensively test it. Any results you get that way may be very usefull for a warranty replacement. note any of those errors you get and mention them on the disk manufacturer's homepage when you apply for warranty.
