The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Best NAS for use with VMWare ESX

I am looking for a solution for a small office that will probably be running Windows 2008 Terminal Services and Windows Small Business Server 2003. They would like to virtualize as there appears to be benefits such as being able to to use any hardware to run the VM's. It is my understanding that to have centralized storage you need a box that can be an iSCSI target. So, I would like to purchase a NAS box that will allow them to run their VM's from multiple servers simultaneously. They currently have a Dell PowerEdge 2800 and my be purchasing a new server in the near future in the 2500-3000 range. However, with only 2 VM's, and maybe another one running Untangle, is this solution overcomplicating things?
