The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Remote Desktop Services on 2008R2

Asked by partnersmvz in Remote Desktop/Terminal Services, Microsoft IIS Web Server

Hello,
I have a couple questions/problems implementing RD Remoteapps (specifically credential issues and rdp connections from within Remoteapp) I hope you can help shed some light.

2 problems:

1. rdp 'apps' i have published to remoteapp wont save the credentials, users still have to enter their password to log on to the specified server via rdp.

2. The default domain when I click on a remote app, how do I or can I control that? Is that the rdp client of my local pc, or the Gateway, or??? Once i first login to a remote app with domain\username, the subsequent attempts work with just username and password, no domain\ needed. But after a cache clearing you have to domain\username again.

Users will NOT ever learn or desire to logon to RD WebAccess with domain\username style login. During experimenting, I enabled Basic Authentication on the RDweb VD in IIS, now I can use their login name to access RD WebAccess. Im assuming thats not too secure...is there a better way?
Also, once you log in to WebAccess and click on any RemoteApp, you again have to enter credentials. What is the best practice and easy way to set this up?

Ideally, 1. Log in to RD Web Access, 2. click Remoteapp and connect to one and have it use your WebAccess credentials.

Thanks for any advice you can lend
