Half space of USB sticker disappeared

hi folks,

one of my USB stickers mystically lost half of its capacity recently. its original capacity was 4GB, but currently it has only 1.86GB. i don't know why.

i have another one, exact same model (SM324C), it is still 4GB and works well.

i have tried to repartition and reformat the problem USB sticker in Windows XP/Vista and Mac OS X (Leopard), all failed. only 1.86GB can be used now. :-((

any clues on how to get my 2GB space back?

It is broken. This can happen all the time. Replace it.

You can't fix such devices, they're too cheap, and the time invested to diagnose the problem then fix it is just too costly. Also, usually these devices are too highly integrated for anyone to be able to just replace a chip. One of the memory chips inside has given up.

the EzRecover cannot recognize the USB sticker and therefore cannot recover it.
