Browse All TopicsHow can I enable USB autoplay? I used to get a window with diferent options every time I connected something to the usb port, now I dont get that window.... Im running XP Home, so I cant open a Group Policies window... The CD autoplay doesn't work either, I have to select autoplay from the drop down options whith the right click. I use an HP Laptop.

Thank you for the response... However, I havent been able to fix the problem... What I need is every time I stick a usb pen drive, to get the following window (see picture)... I know that you can use other software to do that, but my laptop used to do it, and I want to enable it again... I read somewhere it has something to do with the "explorer.exe" process.
I know I'm not an expert in this matter, but I did find a solution. I was having the exact same issues. I had to download a windows powertool from the windows website: http://www.microsoft.com/w
You need to download and install the TweakUI.exe file.
Once installed open up the new program: Open up My Computer >> Autorun >> Types and then uncheck the boxes that say "Enable Autoplay for CD and DVD Drives" and "Enable Autoplay for removable drives" then hit apply. Then re-check those boxes and hit apply to re-set the autoplay.
Then go to My Computer >> Autorun >> Drives and check all the drives that you want to enable autorun. Hit apply and then OK and try it. It worked for me, finnaly.
