ARCserve with LTO 4 and hardware encryption
Guys/Gals, good morning.
We currently have a single central backup server backing up 15 WIN2K3 file servers. I have been asked to implement tape encryption for offsite storage.
I am preparing to buy an LTO4 drive to replace existing LTO3 to take advantage of HW encryption. My question is: can I use ARCserve 11.5 to enable and use HW encryption on LTO4 drive?
Will it manage the necessary keys for each tape? If so I will create a copy in case of recovery.
Does it require a separate agent/license?
Alternatively do I need to upgrade to ARCserve 12 to benefit from this feature?
Any help in this regard would be most appreciated as it is a new consideration for us.
