Browse All TopicsI am trying to decide on what to do for a RAID setup. I am a photographer looking to have secure storage for my files and photos, and came up with an idea but need to know if they are reasonable to implement. The idea was having 4 500GB Western Digital MyBook's connected to my system and set to a RAID5. First off is it possible, and is it reaonable to do such a thing? I spent about $400 for the 4 drives so cost was not bad and I would rather not spend a lot to do this but especially speed wise is this a crazy idea? I have researched just building a new computer capable of RAID5 but the cost for a motherboard to support them PLUS in a new PC I would like the idea of them being hot swappable.
