Adaptec 2420sa RAID card will not boot Windows from Array

Have a strange problem. I am building a Windows 2003 R2 server on a brand new HP ML 110 server. I purchased a Adaptec 2420sa SATA II RAID card to provide RAID storage for the box. I am able to build the array in the 2420sa BIOS utilites (RAID 1+0). I am able to start the installation of windows, installing the most current x64 2420sa drivers. I am able to get through the first stage of the Windows Server 2003 install where it formats the array and installs the necessary files for Windows Server to reboot and continue the install in the windows environment. This is where I have the problem, upon rebooting the server freezes during the post when it try's to access the array. The card just beeps and the access light flash in a strange pattern.

I made sure that the card is listed first in the boot sequence in the server BIOS. Have asked the question through Adaptecs online support Knoweldge base and got no reply at all for 12 days. Not sure where to go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I have the array set to be bootable. Thats not it. I think I am going to try to upgrade the BIOS on the card and the Server.

I talked to the folks at Adaptec and they told me to upgrade the BIOS on both the sever and card. Did so and it didn't make a difference. Tried rebuilding the array. No difference. Tried 32 bit version of the Windows Server 2003. No difference. Tried XP.. no difference. Adaptec decided something was wrong with the card. I decided they were right and got a LSI RAID card. Big difference. The LSI card works now!

Could it have been a issue with Windows 2003 x64 or the HP G5 server I had, could be, but honestly, the LSI card was a breeze to install with none of those problems. So in truth the problem lies with Adaptec cause everything else is working.

Thanks any way.
i have the same problem any ideas
Sadly, I had to go to another manufacturer. That is the only thing that worked.
