I tried deleting the "Unknown Device" list in device manager, but when I plugged the unit back into a USB port the "Unknown Device" came back and I still got the error message "Device Not Recognized". How can I get the computer to recognize the Maxtor device?

As far as I'm aware the drive was plugged into the wall. I thought it was odd that there was no power light lit. The drive was even making noise and vibrating slightly, making me think that it was on but had no power light. After trying the drive on another computer and seeing that it worked, I went back to the first computer, the light lit on the drive and now it works on the first computer. Thanks for the comments.
