We are about to buy 6 server Dell R210, they come with an eSATA connection and we will like to know how connect each server to our storage server (4u custom build solution).
Our storage server has no eSATA connections but has plenty of free PCI slots, so what cards should we buy (please provide different vendors solutions)?
What cables we will need?
After eSATA is connected how will it works? Will the R210 Windows detect the eSATA connection as a new drive? What will be it size and how is it configured?
Thanks for your time and please bear with me since I am new to this subject.

E-SATA is just like the regular SATA, just the connectors are different.
And its primary use is to connect External storage devices (hard drives) to the computer.
I can't swear to it, but I don't think you will be able to connect the new servers to it like you are thinking.
How are you currently connected to the Storage Server? Over the Network?
