how to restore a degraded raid-1 array properly on asus p5q pro?

i have a raid-1 array and i unplug one of the drivers, resulting in a degraded array.  how can i plug in the drive again and have it sync up with the one that was always plugged in?

im using an intel raid array in an asus p5q pro...

There should be something in the BIOS that instructs the controller to take the disk online, then to perform a data "rebuild".  This will sync the data back up.

First of all take backup of data on the left HDD.
The connect the HDD and enter RAID configuration utility. See if there is rebuild RAID menu. It could happen that you rebuild the RAID and loose all data from left HDD. For this case you can easily restore to newly configured RAID from backup image.
