Why won't my iSCSI logical drive initialize in disk management?

I've attached a logical disk from an IBM disk array to a windows 2008 server via the built in iSCSI initiator. The volume attached to the server appears in disk management but fails to initialize when I try to bring it online in disk management. The volume size is roughly 1.75TB. Is this an issue with the volume size allowance or could the problem related to something else?

Is it possible another initiator has access to the volume?

No, the only initiator mapped to the volume is the correct one on the server in question.
I also forgot to mention the error message that I receive when I try to bring the disk online in the question. The error states, "Logical Disk Manager: Incorrect Function".

"No, the only initiator mapped to the volume is the correct one on the server in question."
No chance there's another initiator on another server accessing the volume?

You've got a dual controller array but only connecting to one controller? That's rather strange. Connect to both and download the MPIO DSM from IBM.
