Have an issue which is a severe pain which countless google searches can't resolve!!!
I'm running Symantec 10.1.5.5000 and have about 40 remote sites. Definitions are downloaded via one Main Primary Server all other sites are within their own groups (and own ip ranges) within System Center with their own local Primary Servers.
When I do a Client Remote Install the client is install from the main Primary server, not the local server.
Is there a way of remote installing via System centre so that the clients install from their local server, not over the network via the main server?
During the Client Remote Install wizard:
I've tried changing the Installation Files Location (not use Default Location). When I use the path \\localserver\vphome, the install takes about 5 seconds and doesn't work. If I make the path, \\localserver\vphome\clt_i
nst\win32,
it still installs from the main server not the local one.
I select the correct server in the Select computers screen. I highlight the server in the System Centrer before choosing to install. No success!!
Please help!! I don't have the bandwidth to install mass amounts of clients across the network!!! Each install takes up to an hour.
Should never have swapped from Sophos!!!
