Have you tried changing the top line to yourdomain\administrator and the domain password?
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI am trying to update the Symantec Mail Security licence on my Exchange Server. But whenever I try to access it through the console it is asking me for my username/password. All my administrator passwords do not work, neither does the password I have set up for Symantec System Center Console. Does anyone know how to set or reset the password to Symantec Mail Security??
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

kadafitcd - Thanks, I have tried that and it works only on Symantec System Center Console and Symantec Antivirus console.
notacomputergeek - I have not tried changing the top line of the mydomain\administrator and the domain password. Dont really know how to do it, do you think you can instruct me on where to go in order to do that?
Thank you!
Like I said earlier - it is in the more recent versions. Symantec Mail Security 4.6 is getting on a bit now (the latest download for 4.6.x was created in June 2005), which suggests that you are not necessarily running a current license, or chose not to update the software.
If you were current, then you could run resetpass.bat, but I cannot see this as an available option in 4.6 I am afraid.
If you have a current license, can you uninstall 4.6 and install the latest version (6.0.9, I think). If you go to https://licensing.symantec

Just a thought. Try the default which is:
username: admin
password: symantec
Good Luck HTH.
