I am having a crazy problem with Symantec Anti-Virus 10.0.0.359.
I install the Symantec System Center.
I go into the Symantec System Center and do AV Server Rollout and load the Anti-Virus on the same server as the SSC. During installation I'm prompted for a Server Group... I make one called SAV using admin (lowercase) as the username and mypassword as the password (also lowercase)
After rebooting, I open the Anti-Virus program... I'm prompted for the username and password so I use the above credentials and keep getting denied.... I tried "Symantec" and "symantec" so that's not the answer.
I know I'm typing the proper credentials...
So.... I go into the SSC and try to unlock the server group... I use the same credentials and now I get a message saying the credentials are not correct or the credentials provided do not have permission to unlock the server group ( not in those words... I currently don't have it loaded so I can get the exact wordage).
Now, I've uninstalled everything (Anti-Virus, SSC, AMC, LiveUpdate)... I've ran the "Norton Removal Tool"... I've removed the Symantec key from HKey Local Machine Software and from HKey Current User Software.
I reboot and after rebooting I re-install the SSC... then have it push the Anti-Virus to the same server aagain... reboot and I get the same login problems.... What the heck is going on??
I've done this 3 times now.... that's a lot of installing, removing, registry cleaning... all with the same results.
I really don't have any idea what to do next... any ideas?
