Updating Mcafee Viruscan Enterprise clients without ePO

For reasons beyond my control, we have about 100 servers that need to get regular virus updates.  I can't install ePO in order to make this painless.  What can I do to get the defs out to the servers in the most automated process possible?

I don't mind downloading the superdat file once a week and updating a shared location, but then what?  These machines don't get rebooted very often, so a login or startup script won't be a good solution.  

I tried putting in a UNC path to the superdat .exe file and even extracted the superdat file and tried to put the clients to that folder (tools - edit auto update repository list).  They either complain about not having a SiteStat.xml file or complains about not having a valid repository.
