MS32DLL.dll.vbs infection of drives
I am running Windows XP Home Edition an OEM version bought with the lap top just over two years ago.
About three weeks ago I detected a virus on a friend's memory USB stick. This was swcanned with AVG free edition and showed a possibly infected file MS32DLL.dll.vbs. This could not be healed and the oinly option offered was to send it to the Vrus Vault of AVG. The only way to access files on this (and now my) disks is from programmes FILE - OPEN...
About a week ago I found my own flash drive to have the same problem.
I also noticed that in the title bar of Internet Explorer the name John SINA appeared constantly.
I followed Symantec instructions for removal of Grodzilla/Trojan horse but could not find in Registry any MS32DLL.dll.vbs mentions. I did find and deleted a "Windows Title" entry with REG_32 John Sina W which I deleted. No sign of hacked or Grodzilla...
I also searched and found two Autorun.inf files in C drive and one in the memory stick drive. I deleted all three.
The Hard Drive and memory stick files will still only open from programmes FILE - OPEN and NOT from My Computer - the error message missing MS32DLL.dll.vbs messagae appears at every attempt.
I cannot reload XP Home eedition as the disc is cracked and I am in Cambodia with no contact withg the OEM lap top supplier. I have "dodgy" XP professional CDROM (which works) but would prefer not to reload Windows with this unregisterable version....
Any suggestions to get rid of this problem without a fresh OS load????

This should get rid of it.
This kind of infection eventhough you clean it up, the next flashdrive that gets inserted will reinfect it.
This tool creates a bogus autorun.inf to prevent the loading points.
