Backdoor.trojan virus, Symantec fails to remove, but finds it.

On one of the computers on our campus, Symantec Antivirus generates an autoprotect result every time someone logs in that says the computer is infected by "Backdoor.trojan" and lists the filename kbdfi32.dll as the infected file.  I have tried running Symantec in safemode but it freezes at around 86,000 items scanned (with zero infections).  Ad-Aware and Spybot seem incapable of removing it.  It does not seem to be affecting the performance of the computer, but I would still like to remove it if there is a solution.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
