CountrySpy does do Boot-time scans but one must be triggered during a normal scan. &nbsp;This usually happens when it is unable to access or clean an infected file. &nbsp;What I need is one that will do a boot-time scan when I tell it to.

While I am not sure if it will be the ultimate fix for the problem. &nbsp;It is my last hoorah before wiping the PC. &nbsp;And the best option thus far. &nbsp;thanks for the help.

I am looking for malware scanners with on-demand boot-time scanning (not just if unable to remove during normal scan). &nbsp;I already have avast. &nbsp;I have some residual malware lingering on an infected machine, and re-imaging is a less that popular alternative for this box. &nbsp;Thanks

Virus/Malware scanner with Boot-time scanning

Anti-virus software was originally developed to detect and remove computer viruses.
