McAffe update removal

Hi

Is there a way to rollback McAfee to a previous DAT version?  We have a server that needs updating manually but we need to have a process in place should an update cause the sytem to fail.

Anyone know how to do this?

What version are you using?  I haven't used McAfee in awhile, but in VirusScan, you'd just open the console and select Rollback within the Tools menu.

It's version 8.5.  I've looked through all the options etc and can't find a way to do it.

Are you running the latest patch for 8.5?  Depending on the patch you're currently operating at, you can review the release notes to obtain roll back info.  For example, here's information from 8.5i Patch 1:  https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB50329&actp=search&searchid=1252516024721.  Scroll down (or perform a Find from the toolbar and type in roll,) to find the section called "Removing the Patch."  From the release notes, you just need to use Add/Remove Programs.  Or you can use a command line as long as you have Windows Installer 3.x.
