I have Ubuntu 9.0 with a 500 gig hard drive. I'm using VMWare so its filling up fast. I want to get a 1 tera hard drive (internal). The 500 gig drive is partitioned 200 gigs for XP and 300 gigs for Ubuntu. I want to ghost the Ubuntu partition only onto the 1 tera hard drive so I don't have to reinstall and update everything. Is there a way to do that?
XP as built first on the 200 gig partition. Then, Ubuntu was installed on the unpartitioned 300 gig space. So, Ubuntu sees the XP partition, but XP doesn't see the Ubuntu partition. Thanks.

Clonezilla looks pretty interesting but can I use it on a dual boot machine as described above. And, for what I want to do, disk to disk, do I have to use a usb device, not a bootable iso CD?
Hard drive A, my source drive (hda) has two partitions on it, will it prompt me for a source drive or partition?
The partitions are recognized. There's a little learning curve with Clonezilla, depending on what you're doing. I successfully did a backup and restore of an image a partition. However, when I cloned disc to disc, it only shows the larger, newer disc as the same size as the one I cloned from.
I want to get used to the interface before a do the real disc, which has all my stuff on it. So, I did this with XP in VMWare. I added a second, bigger hard drive. Cloned the first drive, which has two partitions, to the second drive. When I rebooted the Windows machine, it showed two exact partitions of the same size as the first drive. The same thing happened with just cloning a partition.
So, how do you get the cloning to use up the full space of the second drive?
