Cannot delete left over registry entry from Avast Uninstall

Uninstalled Avast anti-virus free edition.  One entry is left in registry and cannot be deleted.  Regisry Entry: Avast! asynchronous virus monitor.

Try to delete the reg entry in Safe Mode.

If you're worried about editing the registy, I would suggest downloading the Avast Uninstall Utility (aswClear.exe - http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-uninstall-utility.html).  Use it to "uninstall" the application again from Safe Mode, reload the system and then see if the registry entry has been removed.

It still won't delete that one Legacy item in the register but it is no longer interfering with anything so I consider it A fix.
