Could you please perform the following for good measure before we move on to further troubleshooting:
1. Open command prompt with Administrative privileges.
2: Reset WINSOCK entries: netsh winsock reset catalog
3. Reset TCP/IP stack: netsh int ip reset reset.log
4. Reboot the machine

Just a few questions because a few issues could cause your symptoms.
Is this a corporate environment?
Do you have a proxy server?
Do you have a firewall?
Do you have a VPN client installed?
