>>7. What gift did Casper bring for Jesus?
Gold - just a guess, though, based on the fact that he's usually named first.

>>20. What was the manger?
Jesus' "crib."  I believe it was essentially a feeding trough filled with hay.

9. What country started the tradition of giving gifts?

Impossible to say since it was a pagan tradition to exchange gifts on the solstice. Presumably Italy was the first country to usurp the pagan festivals of Saturnalia and Calends for Christmas day and Epiphany, see www.initaly.com/regions/xmas/xmas.htm for example. Then of course in the UK (and Commonwealth) the Boxing Day tradition when the lord of the manor would give gifts goes back to feudal times so roughly 11th century. And who can forget Good King Wenceslas giving alms on St Stephen's which was 10th century.

>In Winter Wonderland the love struck couple pretends a snowman is who? Parson Brown (In the more recent “politically correct” versions...a circus clown. Humbug!)

I heard that for the first time last year.  Circus clown!?  It makes no sense.
What makes Parson Brown polically incorrect?  And since when does a X-Mas carol have to be PC?
>>>Andyalder 23. In which year were electric Christmas lights first used?
I've found a couple of entries claiming 1854.<<<

Electric light bulbs were discovered by Edison/Swan officially by late 1870's though it had been there for about 100 years.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incandescent_light_bulb
http://www.ideafinder.com/history/inventions/story036.htm
Who says they were bulbs? might have been arc lamps.
I have a pretty solid 1879 for christmas lights, www.swissinfo.org/eng/swissinfo.html?siteSect=43&sid=4579777, however that's with the Jablochkoff Candle. Arc lamps were displayed at the Chrystal Palace Exhibition in 1851 but they were pretty unreliable so 1854 does make sense for lights that were only used at christmas. I suppose it depends what "christmas lights" means.

Are there any we haven't answered yet?
>What makes Parson Brown polically incorrect?  And since when does a X-Mas carol have to be PC?

Right, we can't have a celebration of the birth of Christ get muddied up with anything that sounds like religion...!
Any for 29.? [Was it the Grinch?]  A. was guessing a star for 10., but Glister probably has it right as usual.
>29. Who tried to have Christmas abolished?
Neopolitan got that with Cromwell although to be more correct it was the Long Parliament which ran intermittently from 1640 to 1660, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Parliaments_of_England
www.olivercromwell.org/faqs4.htm

Fortunately it had nothing to do with the (Praise God) Barebones parliament of 1653 nor his ridiculously named son.
25. In Syria Christmas gifts are distributed by?
The smallest Camel in the Wise Men's caravan.

Is this an honest answer? sounds a bit far fetched to me lol....

Firstly why would the camel be in a caravan, and secondly, why would a wise man own a caravan anyway? Surely if he is wise he should know to invest in real estate - caravans will only depreciate in value!

any links to support/reject this answer?
