Asked by infosys3 in Internet Security, Virtual Private Networking (VPN), Network Routers
For the past week I have had substantical latency over a VPN between two offices. I have an old Netopia router that flashes a number of collisions which I suspect is the issue, but I ran across something that seems to be scary... I loaded look@lan on my laptop just to see whats happening on the network, and on one of the PCs I found on Port 3389 Micro$oft Remote Display Protocol, on Port 5631 PCanywhere and on Port 8081 Blackice-icecap & ICECap User Console. Can anyone enlighten me...could someone be hacking into the network remotely through a PC?, or running some process that drags the VPN down to a crawl. Any advice would be most helpful.
