PC Antispyware 2010, Antivirus 2009?, etc.
Antimalwarebytes starts to scan then terminates.
Thereafter, before reboot, it won't let me access the program and I have to reinstall Antimalwarebytes before running again.
Combofix starts then terminates.
I kill processes.
I've removed program files and registry entries.
Still have not found a good combination to allow me to clean up this machine as it appears the parasite is in there alive and well and getting in the way of cleanup programs.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Well, renaming didn't seem to be an issue as the installs went fine AND the programs executed.
But, I tried that anyway. Thanks.
The problem is that the programs are terminated while running.
Renaming the executable .exe file yields the same results:
The program starts, runs then terminates prematurely.
Then, one cannot access the .exe file again until after a reboot and reinstall of the program.
I had a similar type of issue. In short, when I tried to run my antimalware applications the service required was stopped by the threat. It took a while but one of the experts here finally nailed down the cause. The problem and solution are here.

With MBAM as suggested you need to rename it before saving the file, and often times you need to rename the mbam.exe again after the installation.

Save the installer file to your desktop and rename it to installer.com then run the file.
Once MBAM is installed, locate and rename mbam.exe to mbam.com
Click on the renamed file to run it and then perform a quickscan.Allow it to delete what it finds and then allow the computer to reboot.
There's a new infection the patched system file and blocked most .exes, but if you can make Combofix or MBAM to run it will take care of it.
You also need to rename Combofix before saving, you can even rename the extension to .com....

If no tools will run(even after renaming before saving etc) then the other option is to replaced the patched file.
Let us know if the tools still won't run.
Another thing to try is also SuperAntiSpyware, Adaware AE, renamed of course.
Though not my favourite programs to start a removal with, some malware will kill CF and MBAM, but SAS/AAW will install fine. SAS is still a very effective program and will get you to a point where other things can be run if it works.
I don't think SAS can be installed in Safe Mode though, just run (chose "alternative start" from the programs list)

Prior to downloading malwarebytes or combofix you need to save them as a name different than the default. Example: instead of the default MBAM.exe rename and save it as 123.exe (as an example). Do the same for combofix. Once renamed and ran, reboot and attempt your removals.
If this is the Antispyware 2010 or 2009 Malwarebytes should remove it without issue.
