Performance issue using IE / css2 / xhtml

Asked by webdistrib in Web Browsers

Tags: , ,

Hi,

We are in the process of upgrading the frontend of our website. We wanted to do so in compliance with the recent standards xhtml / css2 and asked our contractor to do so.
Now the new frontend is almost finished and we have a major problem: is is awfully slow when using IE. Works ok with firefox though, so it's definitely IE-related.

You can see it here:

It's already painfully slow the first time, but to test this out, try clicking on "ELECTROMENAGER" and then hit your "back" button ; you'll see what I mean.

We need to find a way to make it perform normally with IE versions 5+ (and of course other major browsers esp. mozilla and its clones).

ps. As you surely noticed, English isn't my primary language - if something isn't clear ask me for clarifications.
