Automatically Detect Proxy in IE6
I have recently merged networks with a new company and since then all our client browsers pick up an incorrect proxy server setting if they have the "Automatically Detect Proxy" setting ticked in Internet Explorer.
How does Internet Explorer find the proxy server if it is set to Automatically Detect Proxy?
How can I track down the offending server or service that is broadcasting this proxy information?
I have trawled through DHCP / WINS / DNS just incase there are any entries in there that could be doing it.
There's nothing in there that contains the proxy config.
Could there be a rouge DHCP server somewhere that has a proxy entry?
Or is this pushed out some other way?
We are a Windows 2003 native single domain, with MS clients.
