How to use or keep the transparency background intact in EPS, TIF or JPG format when saving or whatever

I have the logo images in PSD format with the background transparency.  I don't see how can I do the images as EPS, TIF or JPG format with the transparency background.  Anyone know?  What are my options here?

Thanks,

your best (and probably only) option is to save as a GIF.  GIF allows for transparency.  Save at the highest quality you can, as GIFs are not always as clear as JPEG, etc.  GIF should be your answer.

The only transparent format I'm familiar with is the transpartent GIF, which basically defines which pixesl are transparent and which are not. Therefore you can't really anti-alias the transparancy because it doesn't define any fraction of transparancy because each pixel is either 100% or 0%, on or off.

If that works for you then just got to File > Save For Web

Then select GIF from the list of file types and make sure transparency is checked off.

graphicjunkie...please try not to post repeat comments.  I already posted that GIF is the only image file type able to save with transparency.
It doesnt matter when he's repeated information that's incorrect.

GIF is not a suitable replacement for EPS or TIFF and often not suitable as a replacement for JPEG. It is limited to 256 colors and doesnt store DPI information. PNG does store transparency, and TIFF with a clipping path will. You can get transparency in EPS under certain circumstances but usually PDF or TIFF is a better solution. If it's web-destined PNG is your only solution as it supports alpha channels, and more than 256 colors.

Yea, I'm aware of the GIF option.  The problem I have is that we contact the person/company who print logo on things like papers, cup, pen, shirts, etc...  That person/company don't have photoshop and requested that I send the template in EPS, TiFF or JPG to them.  So, I decided to do the EPS but there's no transparency background that can be produce in the template.  So, I'm just wondering if anything is possible, if so then how.

Thanks,

Are there multiple levels of transparency or just one? You could use a clipping path with TIFF if its the latter.
I have 4 layers that have transparency in the background....
But I can make one with one layer which is not a problem.   So, how does the clipping path work??
By "levels" of transparency i mean are there gradients that fade to transparency or is it a sharp edge object that goes from transparent to opaque quickly?
If your psd does not contain semi transparent pixels, (Where you can see some of the background and some of the overlayed picture) do as suggested above and use a gif. However, if you have, say, a image you wish to fade into transparency, you must use a 24 bit PNG format. (PNG-24) Please note that many browsers (including Internet Explorer) do not support the semi-transpancy provided by PNG-24's.
I'm sorry... I forgot to read your second post:

You may attempt to make the pixels you wish to be transparent pure white or 255,0,255 (FF00FF) so that the end-user of the graphic knows where you wish the transparency to be. That would be the best option if you wish to use those formats.
Again, DO NOT USE GIF. You're limited to 256 colors, and its definitely NOT suitable for print.
Ah, got it.  No fading effect here....  Don't need one.  As for the edges of the artworks, they are just like the anti-alias fonts if you know what I meant.  For everyone here who kept saying about the GIF, I'm not planning on the GIF format.  I only am planning on the EPS, TIF or JPG format.  Just to make the person/company happy to take it for putting it on things like paper, pen, cup, shirt, etc.

the matter of the browser compatability is irrelevant as, if you've read, it will be in print. if he requested it be sent in eps, tiff, or jpeg, i'm sure he knows what to expect when he gets the images, so you should not even have to worry about it.

i am backing weed 100%, there is rarely a need to use a gif for any reason anymore, png is better in every aspect (if you count out animation).
heh, i guess i was a bit late :)
I can't wait until popular browsers start supporting png-24's...
they do... it's only IE that doesn't.
Exactly... It's too bad ie controls most of the market. :(
IE is dying. Even the Govt is telling its employees not to use it and they dont even bother to release it for Mac anymore. There are far better browsers out now.
weed - alright, I'll accept your answer.  I'm pressed for time, so I'll just tell them not to use the white background.  That shouldn't be too difficult.

everyone here - Yea, IE is slowly losing it's strong hold onto the browser market around the world.  I'm a webmaster and I have been monitoring it closely once in every few months.  This declining IE trend still continue.   You have to remember, what go up will alway come down.  Just like Mama Bell, IBM, etc.  This trend is catching up Microsoft.  :-)  It's not that I don't like Microsoft.  Just that there should be some competitions because it's what make the products/services better.  Just something in the middle, not too much and not too little.
