You want to take out some frames and keep the movie, or do you want to capture some still images from this movie?

I want to take out some frames and keep the movie..
Thats not a problem with avi and vertain .mov files but with mpeg and rm its a different story. MPEG files are so small because each frame is only an update of the frame before it. So if you remove a frame, weird things are going to happen. Youll probably have to end up recompressing the movie which costs quality. As for rm files, good luck finding an editor for it at all. Thats a proprietary format and RealMedia plans on keeping it that way. You would need RealProducer with the original source file to go about editing frames. You cant convert .rm files to anything else to edit either without doing a series of screen captures.
Thanks for this info..
But how can I cut a frames from it ? which program(s) should I use ?

You can use this software in odder to cut any part of your movie with actual color and sound quality, even you can make a still picture of any movie that you like. The software can be find at :

As for editors for the .mov format, QuickTime Pro will give you the most bang for your buck. There are other shareware editors out there but theyre just not as good. QT Pro at first glance doesnt look like much but once you get into its editing features its immensely powerful.
One thing I would add to my last comment:

Although it is conceptually possible to remove a frame from a movie file created with temporal comression, that is not to say that anybody has devloped the software to do so. To my mind (and I may be wrong) the method that would require to be employed would entail an understanding of the underlying compression algortih and would hence be codec-specific. In other words, if you come across such software, the developer would require access to each codec's algorithm and implement a method for each. Nasty and lots of work!

Anyway, the concept is simple enough:

Start with a 1 for example and store the changes to it. The next key frame should equal 12 (i.e.the result of the preceding steps). A (lossless) temporal codec would store:

1, +2, +3, +6. You end up with 12

If I were to remove the 2nd step (i.e. +2) I could allow for its absence by changing step 3 to +5 so that I had

1, +5, +6  and can still end up with 12

You would still have a problem though in that you have turned four steps (consider frames) into three. Sounds efficient but remember that if you apply this to a movie (which has a frame rate) you need to put something in place of the missing frame to maintain integrity up to the next key frame (which all temporal codecs have a concept of). This may be what weed was alluding to....

Whoops! Meant to say that this applies to .avi format. This is where you have a proliferatoin of different elgorithms (codecs). Being a standard, somebody appears to have gone to the trouble to address this, hence my suggestion of iFilmEdit for MPEGS.

Alos, got so carried away that I forgot to make my other point! That is, would rsdn please withdraw his/her answer as suggested. Thanks.
killer - you have a few suggestions here, and even a proposed answer.  If the answer is not suitable, reject it and explain why, so these experts can continue to help you.
I have to try this proposed answer then decide after that. I don't have time now to do that. I will do it in few days though.
You can cut unwanted frames by using softwares called VCD Cutter and Ulead Video Studio.  These softwares are definitely useful to solve your problem. Apart from these
you can find one software called Flix in www.flashplanet.com will also be the solution I think so.
But I did'nt tried this software.
this program has only the name as movie cutter, but it doesn't do its work perfectly.
