Hello I have more than one question so please bare wiith me ....

I am a actually a Bioinformatist working to deploy a local version of a free web based application that is available in our field.Before I deplay it on one of our servers I am trying to do that on my laptop and trest it before I proceed furthur.The application needs Perl-cgi and Mysql.

So I figured that I need to install Apache web server on my local machine before I deplaoy the perl scripts

I installed the Apache 2 on my Linux Red Hat machine did what was required and tried testing it with

http://localhost/

But I get this error message

Forbidden
You dont have permission to access/ on this server

I looked at the conf/error_log

This is wahat it says

[error][clent 127.0.0.1] Permission denied:access to/denied

I did look at the forumn for previous posts but could not figure out the cause or the solution
