The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Why are so few of my pages getting indexed by Google?

Asked by Mutley2003 in Blogs, Search Engines, WordPress

Tags: my, pages, google, indexed, why

I am at my wits end here, trying to understand why Google does not index most of my pages.

Clearly it sees SOME of my pages because I can do
::dsanalytics.com and it picks up
http://dsanalytics.com/dsblog/feed/
which is a dynamically created page.

That page contains the phrase ""Code appliances and the dangers of hidden complexity"
which Google will find for me on that page again.

But it WON't find it on http://dsanalytics.com/dsblog/refactoring-the-api-and-scenario-wrapping_74
where it is in the meta description.

Nor will it find on that page
"I realize that a lot of the readers of this blog", but it DOES find it on http://dsanalytics.com/dsblog/revisiting-brand-loyalty-based-segmentation_75
where it is just an extract (towards the bottom of the page).

This is all wordpress, by the way

Some phrases on THAT page (http://dsanalytics.com/dsblog/revisiting-brand-loyalty-based-segmentation_75) eg
"worth reviewing this simple market segmentation approach"
seem to have been indexed.

But "scenario wrapping" which is in the H1 of
http://dsanalytics.com/dsblog/refactoring-the-api-and-scenario-wrapping_74
does not hit that page, only the feed page and the main page (where it is in the sidebar)

Another simple query ComponentsToCode of Gexperts (no quotes) does not hit that page either.

A detailed phrase ""New category users (NCU) have decreasing leverage" is found on a (newer) page
dsanalytics.com/dsblog/revisiting-brand-loyalty-based-segmentation_75

So, SOME things are getting indexed

"dream of doing a complex choice modelling study" IS found at
http://dsanalytics.com/dsblog/why-simulation-is-better-than-statistics_80

Then I look at site:dsanalytics.com .. a whole bunch of junk in the supplemental index (which is when I was testing, but they were only there for a day or two so why these are indexed and others are not is a great mystery to me) , but only one of the blog pages
dsanalytics.com/dsblog/revisiting-brand-loyalty-based-segmentation_75

nothing earlier, nothing later

Then if I do
site:www.dsanalytics.com
I only get ONE page indexed, which is the contact form .. nothing else. WEIRD

If anyone can explain to me what is going on, and what I can do about it, I would be most appreciative.

(Yes, I do know that I have PR=0 and very few incoming links)
